The motto of the Gilbert Public School System is “Expect Success”. In spite of tremendous population explosion within the school district, Gilbert has managed to keep up by rapidly building new schools, hiring qualified teachers and encouraging parental and community involvement. This has lead to 31 out of 39 elementary, junior high and high schools being designated by the Arizona department of Education as “excelling”. The percentage of attending students taking AIMS (over 95%), their scores and graduation rates all factor into Gilbert schools’ high rankings. Six schools were rated as “Highly Performing”, which is still a very good score. Only the Alternative schools were rated as merely “performing”. Gilbert parents can be confident that their children are getting a good education.
