Apartment Rental Prices in Tempe
The city of Tempe is in a beautiful locale in the desert of Arizona. It is located near both Phoenix and Scottsdale, making it a popular destination. It is also home to a major university, which means that each year more young people move into town. Like many cities, the rental prices for Tempe apartments can
vary widely. The cost will depend on where you live and what amenities you want.
For example, it is possible to find relatively cheap apartments on the west side of town. You can find a unit for $500-$600. In the University Estates area there is a complex called Campus Court Apartments that have one bedrooms starting at $505 and two bedroom units starting at $595. However, these apartments do not offer many amenities. Also on the west side in the Holdeman area is a community called Parkside Apartments. They have one bedrooms starting at $525 and two bedrooms at $700. The unique thing about this community is that the buildings are one story so there are no upstairs neighbors. The advantages of this is that they offer front and back entrances to every unit. The courtyard can be viewed from every unit and there is also a huge pool.
In the southwest part of Tempe is the Tempe Royal Estates area. Here, one bedroom apartments start at $605 and go up to $1100 for a three bedroom unit. One of the nicest apartment complexes in the area is the Alexan Metropointe, located at 7017 S. Priest Dr. This modern community offers volleyball courts, a beautiful pool, garage parking, a business center, a fitness center and other great amenities. Rent is a little more expensive here with one bedrooms starting at $750, two bedrooms at $900, and three bedrooms at $1060.
The most expensive area of Tempe is the downtown area. Most apartments start at $900 and can go all the way up to $1500. For example, Rio Salado is a community located in the heart of downtown Tempe. One bedrooms start at $900, two bedrooms at $1150, and three bedrooms at $1285. This community is not only located near all the major highways, but also within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. They offer a wide variety of amenities, such as garage parking, business center, fitness center, pool, sundecks, elevators and much more.
Keep in mind that the highest rents will be in the heart of Tempe, so as you move farther away from the downtown, you are likely to find cheaper prices in the Tempe apartment listings. However, you need to think about the benefits of being within walking distance to places that you frequent and consider whether moving away from those things to save a little on rent each month is a fair trade-off.
Unlike some cities like New York City or San Francisco, moving to Tempe is not completely cost prohibitive. It may take some time to find a great deal on an apartment that has everything that you are looking for, but it will totally be worth the extra work that you may need to do in order to get just what you want.
